There are a f ew pieces in this collection which I think are worth the price of the entire collection. The Presto by Pescotti for example is an outrageous piece. A friend of mine did the best arrangement of the first prelude from the Well Tempered Clavier which is the best version I have ever seen. Its better than any available, including the arrangement by Julian Bream. The Bergamasca which Respighi used in "Ancient Airs and Dances." Those are only three of the many great pieces in this collection.
This book is perfect for repertoire or gigs. All of these pieces will get the attention of your listeners and they are so much fun to play. Some of these are challenging, but they are well worth the effort. They are meticulously fingered to help you learn the as quickly as possible. The accompanying CD is a recording of all of the tunes in the same order in which they appear in the book. Allan Alexander is playing the guitar. The Rose on the Cover is from a Baroque guitar made by Daniel Larson. Interested in a lute or other early string instrument, be sure to contact him.
